What have we been up to?

Our Managing Director, Hilda Kalap , is off on a new venture and we would like to take this moment to thank her for her leadership over the last year and wish Hilda all the best in her new endeavors.

As we move forward, Recovery Devon remains dedicated to championing the voice of lived experience and Recovery across Devon. We will continue to connect with communities and support those exploring what recovery means to them.

We are thrilled to announce the introduction of our Interim Co-Managing Directors, Sami Goulding and Jody Coyle , who stepped into their new roles as of 28th August 2023.

With their combined experience of working with Recovery Devon, they will play a pivotal role in re-energising our purpose and strengthening our core aim, “To ensure every individual within their community finds hope, has choices, and feels supported in their recovery.”

Save the date for our Recovery Day

Recovery Day, Wednesday 11th October 10.30-2pm, Newtown Community Centre, Belmont Park, Exeter, EX1 2HQ

We would like to invite you to join the Recovery Devon team at Newtown Community Centre, Belmont Park in Exeter for our 2023 Recovery Day on 11th October 2023 10.30am-2pm We welcome anyone interested in mental health recovery – whether for themselves, for their work, or for their community.

This year’s Recovery Day is very special as we commemorate our 20th Anniversary, as well as 20 years of Recovery within Devon.

We’ll be celebrating all of the projects that Recovery Devon have supported through our Community Development Fund since it began in 2016. Some of the fund winners will be giving a short presentation about the work that they have been doing throughout the years, others will be offering workshops. 

Light refreshments will be provided to everyone who attends.

Recovery Opportunities

Devon Recovery Learning Community

The DRLC offers a wide range of free, open access opportunities to learn about mental health and Recovery. They provide a unique curriculum of courses delivered online, in person or through a blended approach to learning, designed to increase your knowledge and equip you with the tools to live a meaningful, productive and fulfilling life.

They also offer a relaxed and friendly weekly drop-in sessions in variety of locations across Deveon. These are open to anyone over the age of 18. You do not need to book, just turn up, sit quietly or chat with folks over a cup of tea and a biscuit; there is no pressure for you to do anything. There will be resources, creative activities and information that can help you keep well and have hope.
