Mental Health Awareness Fair 2023

You’re Invited!

Following the success of last years event we have organised another Mental Health Awareness Fair!

The event will take place on Tuesday 16th May, 9am-2pm at Exeter Library. This is a free event and everyone is welcome to come and enjoy, chat to organisations or get involved.

This years Mental Health Awareness Week theme is ‘Anxiety’. To make the event more accessible to those that experience social anxiety we will be

-releasing a map of the event, so that people know where all the stands are before arriving

-releasing some information about each organisation and, hopefully, a short video from each so that people know what face to look out for.

-having some tables that are comfy and more welcoming, such as coffee tables and arm chairs for more relaxed chats

-A podcast will be released after the event so if you can’t make the day then there are still ways to connect, hear from others with experience of anxiety, and learn some ways to manage anxiety from the organisations attending.

The organisations that will be attending are:

Andy’s Man Club

More Positive Me

-Big Emotions Collective

Change Your Space

-Living Options

McFloof Makes

Step One

Youth Arts and Health Trust

-Wellbeing Exeter

Devon Partnership Trust NHS Research

It’s All About You Wellbeing

-Open Arms

Hope to Inspire

-Parental Minds

We will also have a few ways to get involved going on throughout the day.

More Positive Me are holding a #letschalk event at the front of the library. This was very popular last year with some moving messages written. This initiative is in memory of Gill Hayes. Gill was an avid mental health campaigner who was passionate about raising awareness and funds for mental health support who sadly passed away in 2021.

We will also have a Pebble Painting with Sarah McFloof, this will be a drop in workshop so no need to book. Sarah will support people to make their own anxiety based pebbles. More information to be released soon.

We will also have the opportunity for people to take part in our Podcast!

We will be recording a podcast throughout the day, chatting to people with lived experience of anxiety and organisations that might have helpful tools to manage.
