Writers’ Workshop

Recovery Devon is compiling the third in its trilogy of recovery anthologies.

Our first book, Beyond The Storms, gathered stories of overcoming mental illness; our second, Riding The Storms, collected stories of struggling with mental illness. For the third book in our trilogy, we would like to hear from people who have supported someone with their mental health; carers, friends, and family.

The workshop runs on Friday 23rd October from 10am to 1pm. We’ll meet online, so you can join in from home. It’s a chance for anyone who thinks they may wish to contribute, to find a welcoming, non-judgemental space in which to have a go at writing and share the experience with others in a spirit of “trying things out.”

Together, we’ll learn why stories are an important part of mental health recovery, and be guided to have a go at writing with some simple exercises. There is no requirement to share your writing, and no obligation to contribute to the finished book – this is simply an opportunity to play and learn together!

It’s free to attend. Please book a space here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/123479904719

You may also like to prepare for the workshop by watching Rebekah’s “Write Place, Write Time” video series. Rebekah made these for us as part of our lockdown dailies. We’ve put them all together in playlist for you here.
