Community Development Worker
Recovery Devon is a social enterprise aiming to create opportunities for people to overcome mental health challenges.
Working two days a week for an initial period of one year, the community development workers will work to establish a more tangible, accessible and effective network of recovery-supportive services and resources, for example, by:
- Acting as a point of contact between people in need and resources in the community or health service
- Assessing how easy it is to access services and opportunities and how people may find themselves excluded
- Offering support for new initiatives
Recovery Devon has no office base so the postholder will be based at their own home and will work within a limited geographical area.
We are looking for someone with an awareness of what matters to people living with mental health challenges, with experience of voluntary or community work. Applications from people with personal experience of mental health difficulties are particularly welcomed.
