10 years of Peer Support with the WATCH Project

Filed in News on 12th May 2017

The WATCH project has celebrated 10 years of peer support. This is a great milestone for a project which started thanks in part to the support of Recovery Devon.

In Julie Matthew’s own words:

It was ten years ago that I was fortunate enough, thanks to Recovery Devon and other Trusts and organisations, to go on an initial training in Bovey Tracey, Devon, to learn about Intentional Peer Support.

Shery Mead and Chris Hansen taught me a lot about peer support and since 2007 we have gone on an amazing journey. We started with three of us and now have our community Watch project with over 100 members, delivering peer support workshops across Somerset.

This is a big ‘THANK YOU’ to all at Recovery Devon for that little poster that started me off.

Warm wishes

Julie
