Please help us to develop the Recovery Devon website.
We are urgently looking for people who can help us from the beginning of January.
We need help with writing for and developing the Recovery Devon website.
Firstly we need people who can contribute short articles on Recovery for our website. Ideally these will be in a format that enables them to be easily uploaded to the website. We also need more illustrations and links to videos.
We ask that you have a clear understanding of, and support for, the principles and practice of Recovery and an openness towards the development of Recovery oriented services. We are happy to help people to develop skills on how best to format the articles, and possibly how to upload them to the website. This may initially be a voluntary role, though it may overlap with that below.
Secondly, we need one or more enthusiasts with a high level of technical expertise in IT, who could further develop the website (and who may also wish to write articles). This would be a more technical role although we would hope to attract a person with similar Recovery values. We are keen to develop the voice of people with lived experience and would like to grow the Creative Café area and other aspects of the site that showcase the talents, achievements and stories of Hope from people with mental health issues.
The website currently runs on the Joomla CMS, version 1.5. This has served us well for several years. It now needs migration to a more recent version. This will be quite a big task, as some of our extensions are not compatible with the new version. In particular our highly regarded Resource Library, will probably have to move to a different extension, with a considerable amount of work in transferring the data.
However if you’re knowledgeable in this field, up for a challenge and want to help us keep our local, national and international reputation for a resourceful website we would very much like to hear from you! If you have experience of Joomla, or have more general expertise in web design and development and would be willing to learn Joomla administration, that would be great.
We expect to offer an honorarium as a token of our appreciation of this work. As Recovery Devon develops as a Community Interest Company we hope that there will be additional funds available to support this work.
