Peer Reporter Post

Recovery Devon have been commissioned by Devon Partnership Trust to create a part time role of ‘Peer Reporter’. The person selected will collect “personal narrative” accounts of Recovery from mental health difficulties.

The personal stories collected will be told from the perspective of people with experience of mental health difficulties and also from members of staff providing support. The aim will be to capture the experience of people using mental health services, particularly where services have been adapted or changed.

This is primarily in order to celebrate and share what has worked well for people, and to encourage and give hope to others moving through mental health services. as well as to staff providing help as people rebuild their lives.

Funding has been provided for approximately 5 hours per month for liaison with the author, collecting the story and forwarding to Devon Partnership Trust. Recovery Devon have expertise in story collection and will provide support, background materials and supervision.
