Self help for families and friends supporting people with mental health problems

Rethink Mental Illness¬† and the Meriden Family Programme have issued a major contribution to thinking through the carer’s contribution to supporting people in their recovery, including support for carers themselves.

This is a series of 8 booklets, each of around 28 pages. They are formatted as workbooks, with places for you to fill in your own experiences and information. However, they are also very helpful to read through, even if you don’t work through the examples.

Chapter 7 is on ‘Recovery and Hope’ and is a good description of how this applies both to people with mental health problems and to their families, friends and supporters.
