Centre for Mental Health (formerly Sainsbury Centre)

The Centre for Mental Health works to improve the quality of life for people with mental health problems by influencing policy and practice in mental health and related services. They focus on criminal justice and employment, with supporting work on broader mental health and public policy.

Scottish Recovery Network

The Scottish Recovery Network (SRN) was formally launched in 2004 as an initiative designed to raise awareness of recovery from mental health problems. Since then interest in the concept of recovery has increased greatly in Scotland. They now understand more about what recovery means to people and are thinking carefully about the implications for the way they support people with mental health issues.

Time To Change

Time to Change is England’s most ambitious programme to end discrimination faced by people who experience mental health problems.

Royal College of Psychiatrists

The Royal College of Psychiatrists is the professional and educational body for psychiatrists in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Social Perspectives Network

The SPN website states: “The Social Perspectives Network is a unique coalition of service users / survivors, carers, policy makers, academics, students, and practitioners interested in how social factors both contribute to people becoming distressed, and play a crucial part in promoting people’s recovery.”

ISPS International Society for the Psychological Treatment of the Schizophrenias and Other Psychoses

ISPS is an international organization promoting psychotherapy and psychological treatments for persons with schizophrenia and other psychotic conditions.

Recovery In-Sight

The Recovery In-Sight Centre is a socially-orientated company led by people who use services. It offers training products and training services, self-help and peer support, research, and advisory services on practice and service development in the area of recovery.

National Survivor User Network (NSUN)

The National Survivor User Network (NSUN) is an independent network of individuals and groups who have direct experience of mental health distress and/or using mental health services. They are creating a network which will engage and support the wide diversity of people who use mental health services and survivors across England in order to strengthen their voices.
